Why is life (Tim's father) treating Tim like he's a little boy who doesn't know how to do anything?

    i think he doesnt want tim to leave like sam because if he has control over tim he wont leav

    I think he dosent want Tim to leave and grow up and go off to college, and then possibly become a rebel, like Sam.

    It might be because Life doesn't want Tim going off into the world the way Sam did.

    I think father is treating Tim like a baby because he doesn't want him to go off and join the war like Sam did.
