Why do you think Life(Tim's father) wouldn't want to respond to Sam's letters? Why do you think Susannah (Tim's mother) would want to respond to Sam's letters?
i think that the reason why Life doesn't want to write back to Sam is because he's still mad at Sam for making the decition to go to war. I think that Susannah wants to write back to see how Sam is doing
Life doesn't want to because he thinks Sam is too headstrong, stuborn, and always does the wrong thing. Susannah wants to because Sam is her child no matter what. She will always want to be in contact with him and know where he is.
I think that Tim's mom would respond to the letters to make sure Sam i okay but Tim's dad wouldn't because he didn't want Sam to go into the war.
